2012 recap, here comes 2013!

Like last year I decided to write a recap of past year. This year was a really interesting year, I learned a lot. Not only from a technical perspective but from a personal perspective as well.

Both Barry Schiffer and Esther Barthel joined our team (among others) and both have proven to be a great addition to the team. I think the team is really balanced and we’ve got all disciplines in house to deliver complete infrastructures with just one team of consultants.

Next to that I was able to attend both Citrix Synergy (as visitor) and E2EVC Vienna (as presenter) which was a great experience, I even submitted 3 sessions for Citrix Synergy Anaheim next year.

We got to train 21 of our own professionals in RES Workspace Manager and we’re planning the RES Automation Manager training next year too.

As far as contributing to the community (besides this blog) we had two events this year with the Dutch Citrix User Group and both events where highly rated and we’re almost done planning the first event in 2013. We had great presentations during the first two events including presentations of 4 CTP’s (Jim, Wilco, Pierre and Helge) and the BYOS (Bring Your Own Session) seems to be a success as we’re getting a lot of useful information from the field!

I also joined Dane Young’s initiative at ITVCE which is growing and a great resource for all virtualization and cloud enthusiasts so a big thanks go out to Dane, Jarian, Scott, Simon, Shane, Barry and of course Andrew!

When looking at my blog the visitor count is growing rapidly although I’m hoping to spend some more time next year on blogging.

My top 5 blogs of this year:

  1. Citrix: Unattended install of PVS Target Device resulting in vDisk is not available
  2. Citrix: Windows 8 CP and the VDA installation, how it still fails..
  3. Citrix Project Avalon, Excalibur and Merlin
  4. Citrix: Is there a future for thin clients?
  5. Troubleshooting session log offs on Microsoft RDS

So to all of you:

Happy 2013

Happy 2013
