Get duplicate client hostnames from XenApp with Powershell

powershellAt one of my current projects we’ve encountered the situation were people had non domain joined machines (corporate owned), those machines were deployed via an external deployment mechanism but we discovered that a lot of the machines had duplicate hostnames. Not a big deal as the machines weren’t domain joined but whilst the customer wanted to use Intune to manage these devices it could become complicated as Intune displays the hostname of the machine.

XenApp 7.5XenApp 7.5 and XenDesktop 7.5 are released to the web today and there was a lot of discussion on twitter about this release. A lot of info about this release can be found on the eDocs. Presenting at E2EVC? Sure! The Topic? Podio

 A lot of my readers will probably already know E2EVC, the conference for content from all vendors, from RES/AppSense to Microsoft/VMware and Citrix. Even freeware tooling gets covered during this event. The big plus for E2EVC is that the information is completely without marketing so tech only.
