I attended the SDDC roadshow in March and VMware announced that 2013 would be the year of VDI and Software defined Data Center but I heard Tikiri Wanduragala (IBM) saying it would be the year of converged infrastructure and my first response was: “2013 is going to be a busy year…”

Citrix Summit and Synergy 2013 @Anaheim
As many of you may know this week Citrix Summit and Synergy are held in Anaheim, USA. I couldn’t schedule it in as I was planning to go to Barcelona and we all know what happened to that plan.

VMware vSphere 5.1 Update 1 Fix: No values for CPU and Memory in the ESXi 5.x host
After an upgrade of VMware 4.1 to VMware vSphere 5.1 Update 1 one of my colleagues Wilbert Kandt noticed that the environment wasn’t properly load balanced. The problem was that an ESXi host wasn’t used as destination within a VMware DRS cluster after a while.
